Fine dining on Molokai

The pune'e on the lanai.

Today was a rainy, blustery day (50 mph winds). It was so nice to have a day to catch up on sleep, paperwork and phone calls and to take a lovely, leisurely walk in the drizzle.

Our good friends Dewitt Jones and Lynette Sheppard have generously given us the run of their guest house while we're here. We feel right at home!

Honolulu, Hawaii--Los Angeles on an island

Hotel room with a "partial ocean view." If you hang way over the balcony and squint, you might be able to make out the water.
Honolulu, Hawaii

Arrived in Honolulu too late to catch the last flight to Molokai so we had to spend the night. Flew to Molokai this afternoon...about a 10 minute flight. Molokai is the antithesis of Oahu--no buildings taller than a coconut tree, no traffic, therefore no traffic lights, no malls, minimal tourism...it's like stepping back in time. It's wonderful.

Separation Anxiety
Kensington, Maryland

Heading for Dulles Airport. It's tough leaving "Rudy" behind but he'll be well cared for while we're gone by our friends Alyson and Peter Krogh.
Aloha everyone. We'll be in touch from Molokai.

The Good House
Great Falls, Virginia

We roamed to my sister Ann Good's house in Great Falls, Virginia this afternoon. The narrow, winding roads and low-hanging trees in Virginia are a bit challenging, to say the least. We always have to be aware of the Roamer's height--11.5 feet.
Did some last minute laundry before we leave for Molokai and shared a lovely dinner with Ann and her husband Steve. We're camping outside their house tonight and enjoying their Christmas lights...especially the multi-colored peppermints and pink flamingos. While "Rudy" can certainly hold his own in the light department, I think he might need a strand or two of pink flamingos next Christmas. They actually sell them for RVs at our new favorite store...Camping World.

Adobe Lightroom 4 Class
Peter Krogh
Kensington, Maryland

We roamed to Kensington, Maryland yesterday and spent the night in Alyson and Peter Krogh's driveway. We were up bright and early to attend Peter's photography class on Lightroom. Peter, author of The DAM Book (Digital Asset Management) is a great photographer and an extraordinary teacher. The class went on from 9:00 to 5:00--our brains are fried but we're inspired!!! The frustrating thing about digital photography is that it's constantly changing. The exciting thing about digital photography is that it's constantly changing. The learning curve is steep sometimes...and I wouldn't have it any other way!
